We’ve integrated the Free SSL feature for your CNAMES within the 5centsCDN control panel. With this feature, you can utilize SSL certificates from Zero SSL. Moreover, there’s an option to verify the CNAME before initiating the SSL setup, eliminating the need to direct the CNAME to the CDN hostname initially. This streamlined process saves time and bypasses the necessity to reach out to technical support for SSL migration. Essentially, users can independently set up SSL without relying on assistance from the 5centsCDN team.

CNAME validation

You can validate the CNAME in 2 ways

  1. Mode 1

In this configuration, SSL deployment can proceed without requiring the CNAME to be pointed to the CDN hostname initially. Instead, we furnish validation credentials for you to generate a CNAME record in your DNS. This record is then used to validate the CNAME and facilitate SSL deployment. After SSL deployment, you can seamlessly redirect the CNAME to the CDN hostname to enable immediate functionality. This approach helps mitigate any potential downtime.

2. Mode 2

In this mode, you’re required to directly point your CNAME to the CDN hostname. Following this step, you must await SSL deployment. During this deployment period, the HTTPS stream cannot be utilized. SSL deployment is expected to be finalized within a 24-hour timeframe.
