Yes, We have an option to record the live stream in the scheduled playlist. We cannot enable the DVR option directly in scheduled playlist settings. So that we can do the process using this method.
-> Step 1: Create a Live Stream Push.
The first step is to create a stream under Live stream Push. Once the stream is created, you will get RTMP URL and stream. So that you can encode your live stream to the ingest point. For more details, Click Here
-> Step 2: Enable the DVR option in Live Stream Push.
You need to enable the DVR option and set the corresponding DVR retention period. You can follow the steps.
- Login to 5centsCDN console.
- Go to Live Stream Push.
- Click the Manage button of the stream.
- On the redirected page, Click the DVR option and enable it. Specify the DVR retention period.
- Click the Save button.
-> Step 3: Collect the RTMP and Stream Key from the scheduled playlist.
In this step, you need to collect the RTMP and stream key from the scheduled playlist. You can follow
- Go to 5centsCDN dashboard.
- Select Scheduled Playlist under Live Streams.
- Click the Manage button of your scheduled playlist.
- On the redirected page, Click Encoder Credentials.
- Copy the credentials from the console.
-> Step 4: Create a simulcast platform under Live Stream Push
In this step, We are pushing the live content in the Live Stream Push to the Scheduled playlist using the simulcast platform. Please follow the instruction.
- Go to Live stream Push.
- Click the Manage button of your stream name.
- Scroll down the page and find the option “Simulcast Platforms“.
- Click the +Add Platform option and choose the Custom RTMP option.
- Provide the RTMP and stream key of the scheduled playlist( We have collected the credential in step 3)
- Click the Save button.
Sucess, the configuration completed, Now you can push the content to the Live Stream Push. It will automatically push to the scheduled playlist using the simulcast platform. Also, the Live stream will record on the DVR server.
How to get the playback URL of the recorded stream?
- Go to Live stream>DVR
- Click the Manage button of the DVR stream.
- On the redirected page, Click DVR Status / Export.
- Specify the start and end time of the recordings or you can double click the recordings in the graph.
- Now you can copy the HLS playback URL.
